The Lagos State Government will demolish properties in the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state to provide for the construction of the Ijegun-Ijagemo Road.
This will, however, be preceded by preliminary activities such as the delivery of the Right of Way and assessment of affected properties for compensation purposes.
Also, beneficiaries of the proposed road project will be engaged with correct and adequate information on the modalities for the establishment of the Right of Way and other connected issues.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, this was disclosed by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, while speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Alausa, Lagos.
Bamgbose Martins was quoted as saying, “Part of the process of establishing the RoW is the serving of statutory notices and marking of affected properties by the staff of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development and an assessment visit by the Lands Bureau towards the payment of compensation.”
The commissioner, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Oluwole Sotire, stated that information about the process leading to the construction of the road had been published in the national dailies, in line with regulations guiding the delivery of RoW.
