Ihedioha loses mother at 90, Atiku, Obi mourn

Former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has announced the death of his mother, Dame Dorothy Ihedioha, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 90.

Ihedioha, who announced this on his social media pages on Friday, said his mother died in Abuja.

In the post tagged, ‘Our matriarch transits to eternity,’ the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives said his mother lived a fruitful and eventful life. He also noted that her family was by her side as she passed on.

On behalf of the Ihedioha family, the ex-governor wrote, “After a fruitful and eventful life of God’s abundant mercies and grace, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha (Nee Okereke), gloriously transited to eternity on Thursday 20th April 2023 in Abuja, with her family by her side.

“Mama celebrated her 90th birthday on August 28, 2022. While we thank friends and well-wishers who identified with us, particularly during our mother’s last days, we enjoin you to remember the family in your prayers. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.”

Condoling Ihedioha, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, took to his Twitter page to share in the family’s grief.

Similarly, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, condoled Ihedioha on the passing of his mother.
