Seven die, 14 injured in Lagos road crash

No fewer than seven people lost their lives in a road crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem.

He said the lone crash involved a White Mazda Bus with registration number BDG993YG.

According to the statement, “14 people got injured (four male adults,five female adults, 2 male children, and 3 female children).

“Another seven people were killed comprising of two male adults, 3 female adults, and 2 male children.

“The main cause of the crash has been identified to be break failure, which resulted to loss of control.”

The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, urged commercial vehicle operators, as well as private vehicle owners to make routine and regular vehicle maintenance a major priority.
