Abia police confirm cop beheaded, assure informant’s protection

The Abia State Police Command confirmed the decapitation of an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Aba last Tuesday.

According to the State Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, the act was dastardly and highly condemnable.

He called for credible information on the perpetrators or on anyone found with a firearm suspected to be unlawfully obtained.

“The dastardly act is highly condemned and the public is enjoined to help with credible information on the perpetrators or anyone found with a firearm suspected to have been unlawfully obtained,” Ogbonna said.

He said the “protection of identity” of the informant(s) is assured.

Hoodlums, early Tuesday, May 2, 2023, beheaded the ASP in Aba in retaliation for their kingpin that was gunned down by the police on Sunday, April 23, 2023, and further threatened no rest for the residents and police in the city.
