EPL: Ten Hag speaks on selling De Gea after Man Utd lose 1-0 at West Ham

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has insisted he wants David De Gea to remain at the club, despite his error against Newcastle United on Sunday.

De Gea fumbled in Said Benrahma’s shot to gift their hosts what proved to be the winning goal.

The 1-0 defeat at the London Stadium has pulled United back into the race to finish in fourth place.

De Gea’s mistake was the fourth error he has made leading to a goal this campaign.

But Ten Hag, speaking after the match, said: “We want David de Gea to stay here at Manchester United and we want him to extend his contract.

“We want him to be with us also next season.”

De Gea has been in negotiations with United for over one month.
