We will smoke them out – FOC Eastern Navy issues warning to maritime criminals

The Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Olusola Oluwagbire has issued a stern warning to persons who may be involved in criminal activities within the Area of Responsibility of the Command to stay away or anticipate stiffer penalties.

The FOC spoke at the end of his maiden inspection of units and establishments within the Nigerian Navy Ship, Victory Calabar.

On the safety of seafarers and marine business in the Calabar channel as well as the surrounding waters under the Command, he said, “I want to advise any criminal elements who may lurk around the waters and creeks in the Eastern Naval Command to stay out.

“If they don’t, we will look for them and smoke them out.”

Appraising the NNS Victory, he said, “I am still on my maiden inspection of units under Eastern Naval Command. Last week I was in Port Harcourt Rivers State.”

Oluwagbire commended the Commander of NNS Victory, Commodore Vincent Gbaranwi for the level of work, commitment, infrastructural development and operational states of the fleets at the NNS Victory Calabar.
