Renowned singer Augustine Ahmedu, famously known as Blackface Naija, has revealed that despite the high demands from fans for a reunion of the award-winning hip-hop trio Plantashun Boiz to drop new songs or go on tour, some forces are working against it.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Blackface divulged, “There has been much talk about Plantashun Boiz touring again, but a group of industry forces are against it. They are people with influence and aim to cancel out our name. Yet, it’s what they cannot achieve because they are failing.”
Blackface also shared insight into his current music projects and said, “I am working on new materials, and my album ‘Rising Sun 2’ is out, along with my latest single, ‘Enemy Planned Enemy Failed.'”
He also took a stance on his recent comment on men dressing as women, stating, “My perception is that men should dress like men. I did not specifically refer to anyone, but those involved in such should know themselves. Lawlessness and poor moral standards have led to what we are experiencing today. People’s behaviour reflects our society.”
Blackface did not hesitate to reiterate his disdain for artistes who plagiarize his songs, and he disclosed that he would continue to call them out until their thefts cease. He added, “My calling out artistes who steal my songs has had a positive impact. They are beginning to leave my music alone, and that’s a step in the right direction.”
