Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Eduardo Camavinga’s Injury ahead of Real Madrid’s Clash with Manchester City

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that midfielder Eduardo Camavinga suffered a knee injury during the club’s 5-0 win over Getafe on Saturday. Despite making eight changes to the starting lineup from the first leg against Manchester City, Camavinga featured for the Spanish giants in their La Liga game against Getafe.

However, the 18-year-old midfielder was unable to complete the game, and was eventually substituted in the final minutes of the encounter. Nevertheless, Ancelotti has dispelled concerns about the situation, saying that the teenager has only suffered a knock.

Speaking after the match, Ancelotti said: “He twisted his knee, but it’s just a knock. Tomorrow he’ll rest like everyone who played and I hope that on Monday he trains with the team. He’ll recover soon for sure. The knee is stable; he has some discomfort now but the important thing is the stability, and he has that 100%. He has some discomfort in the knee, but it’s nothing.”

Real Madrid is set to face Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals at the Etihad on Wednesday. Ancelotti’s team face an uphill task, having only managed to draw 1-1 in the first leg held in Madrid.

Madrid will be hoping to have Camavinga available for the game, as his presence could significantly improve their chances of progressing to the final. Nevertheless, Ancelotti is likely to weigh up all available options before deciding on his starting lineup.
