Real Madrid Eyes Napoli’s Osimhen as a Possible Replacement for Benzema

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a potential successor to Karim Benzema, their current main striker who is already in the latter stages of his career.

Osimhen, who currently plays for Serie A side Napoli, has caught the attention of Real Madrid scouts due to his impressive performance last season, where he scored 23 goals and provided four assists, helping Napoli clinch the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades.

According to Spanish publication, Fichajes, Real Madrid have not ruled out the possibility of pursuing Osimhen in the future, after the failure of their attempt to sign Benzema’s international teammate, Kylian Mbappe, last summer.

However, Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has publicly stated his intention to keep the 24-year-old Nigerian international at the club, in spite of interests from other European clubs such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
