The Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) has collaborated with Ibzain Integrated Services Limited to provide a seven-day workshop in Damaturu for 100 police personnel on Divisional Crime Management in Yobe state.
Mr. Jamilu Ja’afaru, the NPTF Deputy Director for Training, Welfare, and Institution Development, explained that the workshop is part of the NPTF’s commitment to training and retraining police officers and auxiliary personnel to enhance their productivity.
According to Ja’afaru, the Divisional Crime Management training is happening simultaneously in 31 states across Nigeria under the 2022 Police Training Intervention Fund. The NPTF has provided various training, police accommodation in barracks and stations, and the procurement of equipment to 10,000 police officers throughout the country since the program began last year.
Ja’afaru encouraged the participants to use the knowledge gained to improve their abilities and emphasized that repositioning Nigeria’s police force is critical to ensuring the safety of all citizens. He assured all police personnel in the country of receiving NPTF training.
In response, Ahmed Garba, the Commissioner of Police for Yobe State, stated that welfare would be a top priority during his tenure and urged participants to attend the training on time and pay close attention to the content in the workshop for maximum benefit.
The collaboration between NPTF and Ibzain Integrated Services Limited is commendable and has the potential to improve police strategies and improve the relationship between the police and the public. The training will equip police personnel with the necessary skills to tackle crime, ensuring safe and secure communities across Nigeria.
