The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) issued a warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, cautioning them to steer clear of the party’s affairs. The warning was given on Thursday by Southwest Zonal Publicity Officer of the NNPP, Hon. Kilamuwaye Badmus.
According to the spokesperson, both the APC and Abiodun are allegedly attempting to cause chaos in the NNPP. Badmus stated that it was imperative to alert the APC and the governor because of their purported moves to frustrate the ongoing petition against the APC, Dapo Abiodun and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The NNPP accuses the APC and Abiodun of interfering with the ongoing petition against them and INEC over the omission of NNPP’s name from ballot papers during the March 18th gubernatorial election in Ogun state.
Badmus said, “I want to also call on the APC-led administration under Governor Dapo Abiodun to stay clear of the NNPP matter, which they are attempting to dabble in, to frustrate the ongoing petition against the APC, Dapo Abiodun and INEC for the omission of our party name on the ballot papers used in conducting March 18th.”
He clarified that he had never written an apology letter to the former Chairman of the party in the state, Comrade Sunday Olaposi Oginni. Additionally, he emphasized that the actions taken on the ongoing matter at the tribunal are a collective effort to rescue the party in the state.
Badmus expressed appreciation for the support the party has received from its members, including the national leader, Senator Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Ogun State gubernatorial candidate, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo.
