President Buhari Dissolves and Renews FERMA Governing Board with James Akintola as Chairman

In a bid to improve the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dissolution and renewal of its Governing Board.

The President has reportedly approved James Olugbenga Akintola as the new Chairman of FERMA’s Board, succeeding the former Chairman, Tunde Lemo, who voluntarily stepped down.

Femi Adesina, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

In his letter, Lemo expressed his gratitude to President Buhari for the opportunity he was given to serve his country.

Other members of the previous board had their terms renewed.

The new Chairman of the Board, Akintola, is a construction professional whose accomplishments speak for him. He has held similar positions in many states, including Ogun, Kwara, and Lagos States.

Akintola is also a former Senior Special Assistant Infrastructure in Ogun State, a former Consultant to Kwara State, and a former Special Adviser Infrastructure in Oyo State.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Lagos, and a Master’s degree in the same field from the Obafemi Awolowo University (previously known as the University of Ife).

The dissolution and renewal of FERMA’s Governing Board is a part of President Buhari’s efforts towards reinforcing critical agencies’ management and governance structure for optimal delivery of services.
