Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke, appoints Oyebode Aderonke Mary as new Iyaloja General

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed Chief Oyebode Aderonke Mary as the new Iyaloja General of the state, replacing Chief Awawu Asindemade. In an official statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Oyebode is described as a “strong leader of business women” in Osun state and has contributed significantly to the growth and development of commerce in the state.

Governor Adeleke expressed his confidence in Oyebode’s ability to pilot the affairs of women in commerce for the collective prosperity of Osun state. However, Asindemade, the former Iyaloja General, who was installed during the administration of ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola, maintained that she could not be removed from her position as her group was a Non-Governmental Organisation that she founded.

Asindemade further stated that the newly appointed Iyaloja General was an appointee of the Peoples Democratic Party, while she remained the Iyaloja General in Osun State, and the government had no power to remove her from her position. She emphasized that her position was not for a specific tenure and that her group would continue even if the government decided not to relate with them.

In conclusion, the new appointment has been made, and it is believed that Oyebode Aderonke Mary’s leadership will significantly impact the growth and development of commerce initiatives in Osun State.
