Franklin Sasere, the Nigerian striker for FC Vaduz, is thrilled about the possibility of playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League in the upcoming season. FC Vaduz earned a 4-0 win against FC Balzers in the Liechtenstein Cup on Wednesday and secured a return to the Conference League.
Vaduz featured Cedric Gasser, Tunahan Çiçek, Lars Traber, and Tim Väyrynen as goal scorers. Sasere, who joined the team from Swiss side Lugano in 2022, has been prominent for the team, having scored two goals in his two appearances in the cup competition.
The Nigerian striker played an instrumental role in their earlier qualification for UEFA Europa Conference League at the beginning of this season, having scored two goals and two assists in six appearances. The club made history after qualifying for the Europa Conference League group stage by beating Rapid Wien away in Austria. It was the first time a club from Liechtenstein had ever reached the group stage of a UEFA club competition.
Although Sasere didn’t score much in the group stages last season, he’s looking forward to another adventure in Europe. Sasere tweeted, “Another trophy in my cabinet and a place in Europe next season guaranteed. God is the greatest,” on Thursday, following the team’s triumph.
Although Vaduz is a Liechtenstein club, they play in the Swiss Challenge League and currently sit ninth on the league table. The team’s next match is an away trip to FC Wil on Saturday.
In conclusion, Sasere’s fans hope that he maintains his good form and ensures his team does well in the upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League.
