Breakthrough! Two US Embassy employees rescued after Anambra attack

In a commendable feat, the US Embassy in Abuja has announced the safe recovery of two of its employees who were involved in the recent attack on its convoy in Anambra State.

According to a statement by the embassy on Friday, the victims are now under the protection of the Nigerian authorities in Anambra.

The embassy further revealed that the families of the rescued employees have been notified and arrangements are underway to bring them back home as soon as possible.

The statement also affirmed the embassy’s commitment to working closely with Nigerian security forces to ensure the culprits behind the attack are brought to book.

It said: “We continue to work intensively with the Nigerian security and law enforcement on this matter to identify the victims previously found and to bring to justice those responsible for this heinous attack.”

This development is a glimmer of hope and good news following the tragic incident which saw a number of US Embassy employees ambushed and attacked by unknown gunmen in Anambra State.

The prompt response of the Nigerian authorities and the US Embassy has once again demonstrated the strength of their partnership in the bid to prevent such occurrences and keep citizens safe.
