Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old entrepreneur and actress from Akwa Ibom, who set out to beat the Guinness World Record for longest cooking hours by an individual, has revealed that she has been unable to sleep since completing the 100-hour cooking task she set out to achieve on Monday. During a live Instagram session on her verified Instagram page on Friday night, Baci said, “I am unable to sleep. I don’t know what to do.” Despite her current plight, Baci expressed gratitude to her supporters and promised to stop cooking, “I just want to say thank you. That’s all I have I am so grateful to you guys”. The Indian chef, Lata Tondon, currently holds the world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. Tondon cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in 2019. Baci had initially set out to cook for 96 hours but put up an extra four hours, having completed the task on May 15. Baci was surprised at the outpouring of support she received from all quarters, including government officials who reached out to her. “I spoke to the vice president, my governor, I don’t think you people understand how this thing is doing me”, she said. According to Punch, officials of the Guinness World Record are yet to give Baci recognition, stating that “Our records team look forward to reviewing the evidence and hope to be able to verify Hilda’s efforts as a new record very soon.” All rights reserved.
