Stop Criticizing My Marriage, Begs Annie Idibia

Annie Idibia, the wife of popular Nigerian singer, 2Face, has pleaded with Nigerians to stop criticizing her marriage, in a viral video on social media. During her recent appearance on the Young Famous and African reality show, the mother of two lamented that she no longer knows who her friends are as many people are praying and hoping for her to post her marital difficulties on social media.

“Just stop, give my marriage a break because you guys are busy praying and hoping that something is wrong with my marriage. And you just want me to tell you that oh Innocent messed up. I don’t even know who my friend is in the group,” she stated.

The social media age has given rise to increased scrutiny of individuals, and celebrities are not exempt. The personal lives of celebrities are often subject to intense public scrutiny, and their marriages are no exception. It is not uncommon to see fans and critics alike speculating about the goings-on in the personal lives of celebrities.

In recent years, there has been a trend of posting marital problems on social media in Nigeria, with many celebrities airing their grievances publicly. While some have argued that this approach can help bring attention to issues that may have gone unnoticed, others believe it is an unnecessary invasion of privacy.

Regardless of where one stands on the issue, there is no denying that marriage can be difficult, more so when one is in the public eye. As such, it is essential that we afford some level of privacy to individuals, even celebrities, for the sake of their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Annie Idibia’s plea is not just a call for privacy but a reminder that celebrities are human beings too, with feelings and emotions just like everyone else. It is a call for empathy and understanding, and a reminder that sometimes, the best course of action is to give people space and allow them to deal with their issues in private.
