The consolidation of petitions raised by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has faced opposition from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Senator Bola Tinubu. Both parties raised their objections during the resumed hearing on Monday. Lawyers representing the APC and Tinubu opposed the merging of the three different petitions, stating that it would affect their ability to effectively defend all the issues raised by the petitioners. They argued that the petitioners are seeking different reliefs and had raised various issues. The Allied Peoples Party (APM) and Independent National Electoral Court (INEC) appeared in court but were neutral on the matter. Counsel for the APC said that consolidation would not serve the interest of justice, and the issues raised varied in pleadings. The case continues.
