Following rumours of a transfer request, Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, has confirmed conversations with defender Jules Kounde regarding his transfer options. Kounde, who reportedly requested a transfer due to being played out of position by Xavi, is now in talks with his coach to resolve the transfer rumours.
The talks come in the wake of increasing turmoil at Camp Nou, with reports of internal conflicts and player unrest. Barcelona’s recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of Real Valladolid, was a catalyst for further speculation surrounding the club’s instability.
Xavi, however, was quick to address the issues around Kounde’s transfer request and their subsequent conversation, stating “I spoke with Koundé and I was clear with him. I know there are a lot of stories — but the player left the meeting happy and same for me. There are no problems.” The coach reassured the press that “The conversation has been clear, no problem and no issues.”
