The Yobe State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of three key government officials. Mai Aliyu Umar Gulani was confirmed as the state Auditor General for the first term of four years. The House also confirmed the appointment of Ballama Abdullahi Budu as a permanent member of the Yobe State Teaching Service Board and Aisha Haruna Godowoli as a permanent member of the Local Government Service Commission.
The appointment of Mai Aliyu Umar Gulani as the substantive state Auditor General was confirmed after the House received a report from its standing committee on public service and government house on the nominee’s curriculum vitae. The Chairman of the House committee, Hon. Mohammed Hassan, presented the report and expressed satisfaction with the nominee’s good performance and working experience. According to the committee’s report, Gulani is a man of integrity who has held different positions in the public service and met the requirements of the law for the appointment as the state Auditor General.
Similarly, Ballama Abdullahi Budu and Aisha Haruna Godowoli were confirmed based on their track records of performance. Both nominees served in different capacities in the public service and retired as permanent secretaries. The House commended the track records and the remarkable contributions of both appointees to the development of the state.
Speaking after the confirmation of the appointments, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Mohammed Isa Bello, called on the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government. The House expects the new appointees to make a positive impact in their respective roles and contribute to the growth and development of Yobe state.
