The Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have both accused each other of violating the seven-day ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire agreement was co-facilitated by the United States and Saudi Arabia and became effective on Monday. The SAF accused the RSF of attacking El Geneina and Zalingei, occupying hospitals, placing El Obeid under siege, and other public service facilities. The RSF denies the allegations and accuses the SAF of violating international norms and laws by launching unwarranted attacks. The RSF claims to have decisively repelled the attacks in self-defense, seized and destroyed several tanks, and shot down a SAF MiG jet fighter. There were reports of shooting in parts of Khartoum, Omdurman, and North Kordofan. The Secretary of State of the United States, Anthony Blinken, cautioned the parties to abide by the ceasefire, which includes US-Saudi-international monitoring mechanisms.
