BNXN, popularly known by his former stage name Buju, has expressed his surprise at winning the 2022 Headies Next Rated Award and receiving a brand new Bentley BENTAGYA SUV. The highly talented Nigerian singer-songwriter beat his industry rival, Ruger, and several other nominees to clinch the coveted award.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, the ‘Finesse’ crooner revealed that he was stunned by the announcement of his win, as he had not been expecting it. He disclosed that he had even bought a car for himself in advance, as consolation should he lose out at the event.
BNXN said, “I was really stunned [winning a Bentley], mainly because I wasn’t expecting it. I thought it would take me a longer time to get a Bentley. I just got a car before that award show because I didn’t want to be pressured by losing the car [Bentley] or not. So, I had to buy another car separately to compensate myself.
When reflecting on the win, he added, “But when I won I was really stunned. Even when they shipped it and brought it to Lagos, it was another, ‘Wow! It’s right here.’ I was really excited.”
