Cordros Asset Management Company, a financial service group, organized an educative program on financial literacy and investment for pupils of Corona Junior Secondary School. The program marked the second edition of its debate competition named ‘Every Child a Milestone Debate Competition’ held in Lagos.
The Managing Director, Cordros Asset Management, Mr Gbolahan Aina, emphasized the importance of investment knowledge to avoid financial losses. He stated that many people had suffered huge losses due to poor investment decisions. Hence, Cordros aims to instill financial literacy in the pupils through this program.
According to Aina, the financial service group aims to educate the younger generation on financial literacy. The program, which used to take place in universities, had to move to primary schools as part of its financial literacy initiative.
Femi Ademola, the Executive Director, Cordros Asset Management, reiterated the organization’s aim to educate children on investment at an early age, as they are more willing to take risks. Ademola emphasized that encouraging children to learn about investments at a young age would help them make better decisions in the future.
Ademola further added that the coming editions would be more comprehensive, and many other schools would be brought on board for the program. Cordros Asset Management Company aims to make financial education a top priority for the younger generation to encourage informed investment decisions.
In conclusion, Cordros Asset Management Company deserves commendation for taking up the challenge to engage with pupils on financial literacy and investment. It is a step in the right direction, and other firms need to follow this path to increase financial awareness amongst the younger generation.
