Manchester United Told to Pay £140m for Victor Osimhen

English Premier League side, Manchester United, are in talks to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. The Red Devil’s scouts have identified the Nigerian forward as the man they want to lead their attack next season. However, United will have to pay £140m for the Super Eagles forward as there is no release clause in his contract.

Osimhen has been in impressive form this season, as he currently tops the Italian Serie A scorers chart with 23 goals. This has attracted interest from several European clubs, including United, who have made him a top priority for the upcoming transfer window.

The British tabloid, The Mirror, reports that United had already agreed on a deal to sign Osimhen’s Napoli teammate Kim Min-jae for £43m. Kim has already decided to join United despite only moving to Naples last year. This has further fueled United’s interest in Osimhen.

Napoli, who do not consider Osimhen one of their ‘untouchable’ players, have been planning to sell him since last summer. The club’s signings of Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone, initially on loan deals, were made with a long-term view to softening the blow of Osimhen’s departure.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis will sanction Osimhen’s sale if an offer in excess of £140m arrives. However, they are open to negotiation should the situation change.

In conclusion, United will have to pay a hefty amount to secure Osimhen’s services this summer. It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will agree to pay the asking price, but Osimhen’s performances this season suggest that he could be worth the investment.
