The Kano State Police Command has sent an SOS message, informing the Nigeria Police Force that the inferno that engulfed its headquarters earlier in the day has been put under control, The reports.

The SOS exclusively obtained by our correspondent, reads, “Incident report; today being January 14, 2023 at about 1:30 pm, the Kano State Police Headquarters is on serious fire outbreak, however it is under control.”

Our correspondent gathered that the Command’s headquarters at Bompai, Nasarawa Local Government Area, was gutted by fire earlier on Saturday at about 1:30 pm.

The uppermost floor of the building and the adjourning offices were affected by the fire but the office of the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, was spared.

The cause of the inferno is still unknown as of the time of filing this report.

Our correspondent could not reach the Kano State PPRO, SP Haruna Abdulahi, as calls and text messages to his phone number were not returned on Saturday night.
