Jigawa Residents Warned Against Carrying Dangerous Items for May 29 Inauguration

The Jigawa State Police Command has cautioned residents of the state against carrying dangerous weapons or items that may cause trouble during the May 29, 2023 inauguration. The command, in a statement issued to Media Talk Africa by its spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, emphasized the need for all necessary security arrangements to ensure a smooth inauguration ceremony at Aminu Kano Triangle, Dutse.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam reiterated the commitment of the police to work hand in hand with sister security agencies and relevant stakeholders towards ensuring a hitch-free inauguration ceremony. He added that the command would not hesitate to clamp down on non-state actors or any person or group that intends to foment trouble.

According to the statement, the police advised the people of Jigawa to turn out in an orderly manner and avoid carrying dangerous items that may create suspicion or apprehension. The statement also urged residents to comply with traffic rules and regulations while driving, thus minimizing the risk of accidents.
