Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, bids farewell to his people, having dissolved the State Executive Council and leaving office a fulfilled man without grudges against anyone. During his farewell broadcast, the governor stated that his story offers hope to all residents in the state and promises an unwavering dedication to continue supporting them when called upon.
The outgoing governor reviewed his achievements while in office and expressed his good wishes for the incoming government. He recognized that the last eight years have been a journey in unshaken fidelity to the covenant with the people of Abia State. During that time, the administration transformed the infrastructural landscape of the state, leaving it better than they met it.
When he assumed office, Governor Ikpeazu outlined his plan of action detailing key areas of focus for the development of the state. The five pillars of development, which included Education, Agriculture, Trade and Commerce, Industries, and Oil and Gas, were designed to rest on enablers for effective impact, such as Infrastructural Development, Healthcare Delivery, Security, Fiscal Responsibility, Ease of Doing Business, Peace, and Harmony. The Governor announced that they achieved what they set out to achieve.
In his concluding address, Governor Ikpeazu graciously advised all Abians to give the incoming Governor maximum support, reminding them that governance is a continuous process that builds on previous achievements. He closed by commending his people to the support and protection of God, to whom the state has been dedicated from birth, acknowledging that the will of God will always be done in Abia State.
