Tinubu Mourns Raymound Dokpesi, Consoles AIT and Family

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences over the passing of renowned media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, founder of Daar Communications, owners of African Independence Television (AIT) and Raypower. Mr. Dokpesi died on Monday at an Abuja hospital.

In a statement released by Tinubu’s office on Monday evening, the President described Dokpesi’s death as a devastating loss to not only the Nigerian media industry but the entire country. He praised the late media personality’s pioneering roles in private broadcasting and described him as an inspiration to upcoming media entrepreneurs.

According to Tinubu, the history of the Nigerian media industry would not be complete without a prominent mention of Dokpesi and his exceptional contributions to the media landscape. He condoled with the management and staff of Daar Communications and the family of the iconic media entrepreneur.

The passing of Dokpesi, who was a key player in the private broadcasting sector, has been met with a lot of sadness and several tributes from individuals and organizations in the media space. His giant footprints in private broadcasting, along with his knack for innovation, will be greatly missed.
