Governor Seyi Makinde Dissolves Park Management System in Oyo State

In a move that comes a few hours after taking his oath of office for a second term, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has dissolved the Park Management System (PMS) in the state, according to a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.

The PMS was established in 2020 after Makinde proscribed the National Union of Road Transport Union (NURTW) in the state to address issues of violence and unrest amongst its members.

With the dissolution of the PMS, the Disciplinary Committee, which was led by Mukaila Lamidi, has also been dissolved. This move is aimed at restructuring the transportation system in Oyo State and creating a more peaceful and effective mode of operation for the state’s transport sector.

The Governor’s decision has been well received by many who believe that the Park Management System only served to perpetrate the violent activities of the NURTW and is, therefore, a danger to the people of the state.

This recent development is expected to significantly improve the peace and security of Oyo State’s transportation system. With this move, Governor Makinde has demonstrated his commitment to reforming the transport sector for the greater good of all.
