In recognition of his services to the country, the Daura Emirate Council organised a special durbar in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The event, which took place on Tuesday and witnessed a mammoth crowd from within and outside the country, saw attendees express appreciation for the former President’s impeccable service to the nation.
Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, thanked all the guests that answered the invitation to attend the occasion in the ancient city of Daura. He also expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for His infinite mercies and for enabling the former President to successfully complete his eight-year term in office.
During the special durbar, Buhari, also known as “Bayajidda II,” received accolades from horse riders, while his wife, Hajia Aisha, was also in attendance. The event was graced by dignitaries, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; former Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; ministers who served during his tenure, and other political leaders.
Religious and community leaders, former commissioners, and Emirs of Katsina and Bichi were also in attendance, alongside Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno and traditional rulers from neighbouring Niger Republic.
The event was marked by the unveiling of a book titled ‘The Compendium of Life and Times of Muhammadu Buhari’ by Mr Sirika. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu, and renowned business mogul and Chairman of Max Air Ltd, Dahiru Mangal, were also present.
The special durbar was a momentous occasion that celebrated the life and achievements of a former president who is still held in high esteem by many Nigerians.
