The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of public servants over the next four years. Speaking during a meeting with workers at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Abiodun praised the state workforce for its support and expressed his desire to see continued improvements in the efficiency and professionalism of public servants.

Abiodun stated, “I want to pledge to you that I will continue to look for ways and means to improve you so that you will continue to be more intellectually and professionally built, so that you can hold your own anywhere you go in the world. I also want to pledge that your welfare will be one of my priorities in the next four years.”

The governor thanked public servants throughout the state for their support towards the implementation of the ISEYA Agenda during his first term in office, noting that the success achieved was due to the close working relationship between the public service and the political office holders.

Abiodun also challenged the permanent secretaries who are currently acting as accounting officers in their Ministries to maintain accountability pending the appointment of new special advisers and commissioners.

Furthermore, the governor pledged to ensure the commencement of a dry port in Kajola, which will have all necessary facilities to make the state an attractive destination for investors while boosting ease of doing business. Additionally, Abiodun promised to continue building affordable housing units for public servants, stating, “We will continue to build until we ensure that every desirous civil servant that wants a house will have a roof over his head as a landlord, not as a tenant.”

Head of Service, Kola Fagbohun, congratulated the governor on his second term inauguration and assured workers of the continued contribution towards the realization of the administration’s agenda.
