In a bid to further strengthen his administration and improve service delivery in Kano State, the state’s governor, Abba Yusuf, has announced the appointment of new heads for five key agencies in the state. The appointment was made known in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Thursday.
According to the statement, the new Accountant General of the state is Abdulkadir Abdussalam. Garba Ahmed-Bichi will serve as the Managing Director of Kano State Water Board, while Rahila Mukhtar will be the Executive Secretary of Kano State Healthcare Contributory Management Agency, KCHMA.
Hassan Baba-Danbaffa was also appointed as the new Managing Director of Kano State Road Maintenance Agency, KARMA, while Ibrahim Yakubu was named as the Managing Director of Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority, KNUPDA.
The appointment of the new heads is expected to improve efficiency, accountability and transparency in the agencies. The governor’s spokesperson, Mr Dawakin-Tofa, also revealed that the swearing-in ceremony of the appointees would be announced soon to enable them to assume office immediately.
It will be recalled that the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, has been committed to providing quality services to its citizens through the appointment of competent individuals to key positions in the state.
