Primate Ayodele warns against fuel subsidy removal, says it will damage Tinubu’s government

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned against the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria, stating that it would damage President Bola Tinubu’s government. Speaking through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele stated that the issue of fuel subsidy should be dealt with technically as its removal would cause serious economic hardship.

According to Primate Ayodele, President Tinubu didn’t address the issue of subsidy well enough, and while there’s nothing wrong with removing the subsidy, the method of removing it is what is causing issues.

“No matter how you want to put it, it is not yet time to remove the fuel subsidy, it will damage the present government. They should work on the subsidy technically. There is no way things won’t be hard, there is no way we won’t face economic hardship,” Primate Ayodele said.

The clergyman also predicted that Tinubu’s administration will remain unstable until 2026, if God decides to show him mercy.

“Tinubu will not get this government better until 2026 if God decides to show mercy. There’s nothing bad in removing subsidy but the method of removing it is causing issues now,” he added.

Primate Ayodele’s warning comes on the heels of the Federal Government’s decision to remove fuel subsidy, a move that has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians.
