The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mba, to prevent his political enemies from turning the state into a theatre of crisis.

The group expressed its determination to make things difficult for the governor if he allows his adversaries to disrupt the peace in the state.

IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, made this known in a statement issued while condemning the arrest of some individuals during the Biafra Day celebration in Enugu State recently.

Powerful added, “We are reminding the new Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mba, to be vigilant so that the Nigerian government, through his political enemies, will not cause chaos in the peaceful state of Enugu.

“If he allows the enemies to use him against IPOB, then we will make Enugu State tough for him to govern.

“We, the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, condemn the Nigerian military’s attack on peaceful IPOB members during the candlelight service held in remembrance of Biafra heroes and heroines at Emene, Enugu State, on May 29, 2023.

“Biafrans gathered on various continents on May 29th and 30th, 2023, to honor our fallen heroes and heroines without harassment, but it was only in Nigeria that our people were attacked, abducted and murdered.

“The Nigerian military combined team invaded the peaceful Biafrans’ candlelight service and disrupted their prayers for the fallen Biafran heroes and heroines at Emene, Enugu State.

“The Biafrans were harmless and praying when the gathering was invaded by the overzealous Nigerian military.”
