Ortom congratulates Akume over SGF appointment

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has congratulated George Akume over his recent appointment as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the governor described Akume’s appointment as well-deserved, given his wealth of experience in public service. He also expressed confidence in Akume’s ability to use his new position to advance the cause of the country and serve as a bridge between the government and the people.

Ortom further noted that Akume’s appointment was a testimony to his dedication, commitment, and integrity in his previous assignments, both as a former Governor of Benue State and a senator in the National Assembly.

The governor urged the SGF to use his good offices to ensure the inclusion of Benue State in the federal government’s development agenda. He also advised him to prioritize issues of security, agriculture, and infrastructure in the state, noting that these were critical areas that required urgent attention.

Ortom concluded by expressing his willingness to work with Akume and other government officials to address the challenges facing Benue State and promote the overall development of Nigeria.

It is commendable that Governor Ortom has set aside political affiliations to congratulate Akume on his appointment, recognizing the importance of putting the interests of the nation first. This gesture is worthy of emulation by other political leaders in the country.
