Benue State Governor Congratulates 10th Assembly and its Leaders

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, praised the newly inaugurated members of the Assembly, particularly Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh of Gbemacha Constituency and Hon. Lamin Danladi of Ado Constituency, on their election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 10th Benue State House of Assembly respectively.

Through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Kula Tersoo, the Governor applauded the legislators for demonstrating maturity during the voting process, saying that despite their political differences, they showed patriotism and love for Benue through their peaceful and orderly conduct.

He urged all branches of government in the state to work together harmoniously to allow his administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The Governor also charged the Legislative branch of government to contribute their quota as critical stakeholders to drive state development.

Furthermore, Governor Alia advised the new leadership of the assembly to embrace magnanimity and shun vindictiveness.

He also advised those who lost the assembly’s leadership election to accept defeat graciously and collaborate with the victors for the benefit of the state.

Lastly, the Governor pledged not to interfere in the assembly’s affairs and suggested that the lawmakers operate independently without fear of executive interference.
