Court Dismisses Ezeokenwa as APGA National Chairman, Udensi and Njoku Celebrate

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, sitting in Bwari, Abuja, has nullified the actions taken by Barr Sly Ezeokenwa Jr., the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and ordered the recognition of Chief Njoku as the new APGA National Chairman.

The judgement, which was delivered on Tuesday by Justice Mohammed Madugu, followed the Supreme Court’s ruling on March 24, 2023, which removed Victor Ikechukwu Oye as the APGA National Chairman.

In his Tuesday ruling, Madugu declared that all actions and decisions taken by Oye since his removal were illegal and of no consequence. In addition, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was directed to recognize Chief Njoku as the new APGA National Chairman, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s judgement.

The judgement has been welcomed by Sir Chikwe Udensi, an APGA chieftain from Abia, Chief Edozie Njoku (the Deputy National Chairman of APGA), and other party stalwarts. Udensi hosted a victory dinner at his Asokoro residence on Tuesday evening, where Njoku, Freedom Okwuchukwu (another Deputy National Chairman of APGA), and Steve Nwadiuko joined him in celebrating the judgement that voided Oye’s actions and decisions, including those related to the last election.
