Fuel subsidy: Kwara maps out additional succour for state public servants

Kwara State Government is about to offer applicable allowances to help state public employees to cushion the results of the abolition of gasoline subsidy by the Federal authorities.

This is in furtherance of the not too long ago permitted discount in workdays for its civil servants from 5 to 3 days.

An announcement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Head of Service, Murtala Atoyebi in Ilorin on Wednesday, disclosed that “the government was set to provide succor for workers that could not be covered by the reduction in workdays due to peculiar nature of their official duties.

“To this end, the government is working to provide appropriate allowances to support these categories of workers as a stop-gap measure, pending conclusions on the review of minimum wage.”

Media Talk Africa recollects that the state authorities had on Monday introduced discount in workdays from 5 to 3 days for its civil servants as a part of efforts to handle the challenges of gasoline subsidy removing.
