Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, has reportedly given directives that the club should immediately sign a replacement for former striker, Karim Benzema, who recently joined Al-Ittihad.
With Benzema gone, the team is without a reliable striker, and Marco Asensio, who often played backup to Benzema, will also leave Real Madrid as a free agent.
According to reports from El Nacional, Real Madrid sees Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Chelsea’s Kai Havertz as viable options to replace Benzema.
The President and the new team manager, Carlo Ancelotti, have reportedly decided that Kane would be the better choice over Havertz.
However, signing Kane is expected to be difficult due to the reluctance of Tottenham Chairman, Daniel Levy. Reports suggest that Levy views Real Madrid’s interest in Kai Havertz as a method to devalue Harry Kane’s cost.
