In a bid to strengthen his administration and enhance service delivery to the people of Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has made key appointments, including the Chairman of the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) and the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
Sani Abdulkadir Dambo, a seasoned tax expert and senior manager at the Tax Audit department of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) in Abuja, has been appointed as the Chairman of KIRS. Dambo, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bayero University, Kano, also possesses a Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management, as well as an MBA. With 20 years of experience in tax administration and being a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria (CITN), his appointment is expected to drive revenue generation in the state.
Furthermore, Isyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi has been selected as the Executive Secretary of SEMA. With his expertise in emergency management, Kubarachi is well-equipped to lead the agency in effectively handling disasters and mitigating their impact on the people of Kano State.
A statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, emphasized that the newly appointed officials are to commence their duties on June 16.
In addition to these crucial appointments, Governor Yusuf has also announced the selection of 14 personal aides. This team includes Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Special Assistants (SAs), and Personal Assistants (PAs), who will provide support to the governor in various areas of governance.
