Oluomo Secures Second Term as Ogun Assembly Speaker

After a rigorous process of consultation and negotiation, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has emerged victorious once again, securing his position as the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly for a second term.

The swearing-in ceremony for the 10th Ogun Assembly took place on Tuesday, where the re-election of Hon. Oluomo was announced.

In addition, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi from Yewa South State Constituency has been elected as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Amidst ongoing legal proceedings, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigating allegations of a missing N2.5 billion during his previous tenure, Hon. Oluomo has managed to retain the support and confidence of his fellow lawmakers.

Hon. Oluomo, who has served as the representative for Ifo Constituency 1 since 2011, previously held the position of Deputy Speaker from 2011 to 2019.

This re-election signifies a continued affirmation of Hon. Oluomo’s leadership abilities and the trust placed in his capacity to navigate the challenges facing the Ogun State House of Assembly.
