Abia Governor, Alex Otti, Commends Eze Anaba as NGE President

In a show of support and admiration, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has praised the recent election of Mr Eze Anaba, the editor of Vanguard Newspapers, as the new President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).

The election took place at the biennial national convention held in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State.

In a statement released on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Governor Otti spoke highly of Anaba’s leadership qualities and the confidence that his colleagues had in him, which was clearly demonstrated by the overwhelming number of votes he received.

Otti also extended his congratulations to Anaba, while commending the entire guild and the organizing committee for ensuring a rancour-free event and a free, fair, and peaceful election that resulted in the emergence of new leadership.

The statement read: “The people of Abia State are delighted to have you as one of their illustrious sons and we hope that you will use your new position to work towards the realization of their dream of a progressive and prosperous Abia.”

The governor expressed his hope that Anaba’s tenure would be focused on strengthening the guild and promoting the welfare, well-being, and rights of journalists in Nigeria. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the ethical standards and values of the noble profession of journalism.
