Governor Urges Muslims to Pray for Cross River’s Progress

In a message to the Muslim Ummah, Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has called for continued prayers for the prosperity and development of both the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Ogbeche, was conveyed in celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

Governor Otu emphasized the importance of tolerance, sacrifice, and adherence to the teachings of Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

As his government settles into its role, Governor Otu has expressed a commitment to creating a better state that benefits all residents, regardless of their tribal, religious, or ethnic differences.

He has appealed to citizens to embrace peace and coexist harmoniously, despite various challenges, and has urged them to abide by the law.

“I call on all Muslim faithful to embody tolerance, obedience, and acts of sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his only son in accordance with Allah’s will,” he stated.

Governor Otu also recognized the Muslim community in Cross River State as an integral part of the “People’s First” Agenda, which seeks to foster social and economic development, as well as political stability.

On behalf of the government and the people of Cross River State, he conveyed his best wishes for a successful Eid-el-Kabir celebration to the Muslim community.
