In his new role as National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu has been given a set of tasks to address. Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has called on Ribadu to put an end to the criminal acts of terrorism, banditry, killings, and kidnappings that have plagued the nation.
Sani specifically urged Ribadu to focus on the protection of schools and farmers from the clutches of terrorists.
Expressing his dismay, Sani took to Twitter to highlight the squandered resources of previous governments that have failed to effectively combat insecurity.
According to Sani: “The new NSA Ribadu has a crucial responsibility ahead of him. It is imperative to bring an end to the prevailing criminal acts of terrorism, banditry, and the incessant killings and kidnappings rampant throughout the country.
“We need to see a renewed and result-oriented effort in ensuring the safety of our schools and the protection of farmers from the grips of these terrorists.
“Past administrations have wasted billions of dollars, held countless meetings, implemented bans on mining activities and motorcycle usage, shut down telecommunications, claimed to have bombarded various locations, and even organized prayer sessions; and yet, we are still grappling with terrorist masterminds such as Bello Turji, Dogo Gide, Ado Aleru, and others. We expect a different approach and better results this time.”
