The Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, along with other prestigious traditional title holders of Gombe State Emirate, recently paid a Sallah Homage to Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya as part of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations. This visit, which is a long-standing tradition held every year, was led by the Emir accompanied by district heads and members of his traditional council. The occasion was marked by a vibrant royal Durbar and a display of other traditional activities.

In his remarks, Governor Yahaya acknowledged that the successes achieved during his administration would not have been possible without the unwavering support of traditional, religious, and political leaders, as well as the people of the state. He expressed his gratitude to all those who played pivotal roles in the accomplishments, stating, “The achievements under my watch are not my making alone; the political, traditional, and religious leaders, as well as men, women, and youths, all played pivotal roles towards attaining these feats. So we are grateful to all.”

Governor Yahaya reassured the residents of Gombe State that in his second term, his administration would continue to work towards providing more dividends of democracy, aiming to position Gombe as a leading state and a model for others to emulate.

Despite facing numerous socio-economic challenges, the Governor emphasized that his administration remained resolute in providing critical infrastructure and other social amenities as outlined in his campaign manifesto.

The Governor appealed to the Emir of Gombe and other traditional rulers in the state to continue seeking opportunities and strategies that would further foster development for the people. He affirmed that his administration would consistently seek the support, cooperation, and wise counsel of traditional rulers and opinion leaders to effectively lead the state.

Governor Yahaya revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was proud of the developmental indicators that promote fiscal and physical progress in Gombe State.

He also called for patience from the people, as the national and sub-national governments were working to stabilize the economic conditions.

The Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, showered praise on Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the remarkable and developmental strides taken by the APC-led administration across the entire state. He particularly highlighted the construction of over 700 kilometers of roads, the installation of modern solar streetlights in Gombe metropolis, rejuvenation of healthcare facilities, and the revamping of the education sector.

The Gombe monarch specifically commended Governor Yahaya for the construction and renovation of more than 1,140 classrooms, efforts to enroll out-of-school children, the ongoing industrial revolution with the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park project, and the prompt payment of salaries and gratuity for retirees.

In his capacity as the Chairman of Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, the Emir of Gombe assured Governor Yahaya of the traditional institution’s support in the best interest of the people.

To conclude the visit, the royal father led a stunning Durbar, featuring hundreds of horsemen dressed in colorful robes and regalia, impressing the Governor and other esteemed guests in attendance.
