Renowned Nigerian economist and former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has called for an independent forensic investigation into the ongoing controversy between Mmesoma Ejikeme and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Ezekwesili stated that after listening to Mmesoma’s side of the story in a video, it is only reasonable to request a comprehensive forensic investigation to uncover the truth.
Mmesoma Ejikeme, a JAMB candidate, was implicated by the examination board for allegedly forging her result. However, she vehemently denies the accusations.
In a heartfelt video, Mmesoma expressed her astonishment that a result she had printed from the JAMB portal could be branded as fake. She also revealed the emotional distress caused by these claims and asserted her academic capability as a brilliant student.
Taking to her verified Twitter account on Monday, Obiageli Ezekwesili revealed that she had reached out to the Registrar of JAMB, urging them to conduct an independent investigation.
She wrote, “This contentious situation involving Mmesoma Ejikeme and @JAMBHQ warrants an unbiased technological investigation to unearth all the facts. After considering her testimony in this video, it is only reasonable to demand a comprehensive forensic investigation to unravel the truth. Consequently, I have personally contacted the Registrar of JAMB.”
