The Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Comrade Issa Aremu, has received praise for his dedicated efforts in capacity building. Mrs. Moji Makanjuola, the Executive Director/Founder of the International Society of Media in Public Health (ISMPH), commended Aremu for the significant progress made by the institute during his two-year tenure.
Makanjuola expressed her appreciation during a visit to the esteemed labour institute in Ilorin. As a seasoned broadcaster, she emphasized that the successful transformation of an institution like MINILS is only possible with visionary leadership at the helm.
Makanjuola stated, “Only a man with vision and a purpose-driven attitude can bring about the kind of positive changes that you have achieved in the past two years. As a noteworthy organization, both nationally and internationally, we are inspired by your efforts in capacity building, labor education, and research.”
“Our organization will explore opportunities for collaboration with MINILS in order to further enhance the standing of the institute, utilizing our effective platforms,” she added.
On the occasion of MINILS’ 40th anniversary, Makanjuola, who is also the former President of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), congratulated the institute and urged Aremu and his team to continue their work in restoring the institute’s previous glory. She emphasized the importance of their sacrifices for the future.
In response, Comrade Aremu thanked Makanjuola for representing her organization and commended the International Society of Media in Public Health for their efforts in ensuring equitable healthcare services for all, both in Nigeria and beyond.
Aremu stated, “As the saying goes, health is wealth, and anyone or any organization that works towards this cause deserves support and positive partnerships. The institute is eager to establish a strong relationship with your organization,” he assured.
He encouraged ISMPH to remain focused on their mission and vision as a non-governmental organization headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
