Afenifere Crisis: Adebanjo Warns Makinde Against Interference, Denies Dispute with Fasoranti

The leader of the Afenifere sociocultural organization, Ayo Adebanjo, has cautioned Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State against interfering in the leadership issue that the organization is currently facing.

Adebanjo emphasized that he has no dispute with his predecessor, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, and warned Makinde not to meddle in matters he is not fully informed about.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Adebanjo urged Makinde to refrain from any attempts to divide Afenifere.

“Governor Makinde should not interfere in matters he doesn’t understand. I have no dispute with Baba Fasoranti. He should not be among those who seek to fragment Afenifere, as that goes against my principles,” Adebanjo stated.

Adebanjo’s statement came in response to the proposed reconciliation meeting between himself and Fasoranti, which was suggested by Makinde.

Makinde had recently revealed plans to reconcile Adebanjo and Fasoranti, in an effort to address the leadership crisis within Afenifere.
