Police dismiss trigger-happy Inspector for allegedly killing Lagos technician

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the dismissal of 1 Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi, who killed a generator technician within the state.

The generator technician, recognized as Bakare Idris, was shot lifeless by the police inspector hooked up to Alausa Police Division in Lagos earlier in May 2023.

According to report, the deceased was shot lifeless at Oregun space of Lagos after a heated argument ensued between him and the officer.

He was buried on the Ifo space of Ogun State after an post-mortem was carried out on him. The household of the deceased had demanded justice for their son.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, introduced the dismissal of the inspector in a tweet on Wednesday evening.

He mentioned the event would pave approach for the arraignment of the suspect, which has been scheduled for Friday, July 7.

The tweet reads, “The recommendation for dismissal of Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi was today approved. This paves way for his arraignment, which will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, assures Lagosians of his unwavering determination to police the state within the dictates of rule of law, civility and respect for human life”.
