Speaker Abbas, Ihonvbere urged to unite with principal officers to enact good laws

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas and the Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere, representing Owan Federal Constituency, have been urged to unite with other principal officers to enact good laws.

The member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mr Victor Chidi Nwoke, made this call through in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

He said the emergence of the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, Ihonvbere and other elected principal officers of the House of Representatives is a welcome development, and called on them to always enact laws that will bring greater development to the country.

Nwoke also called on the leadership of the House of Representatives to work harmoniously with all the elected members to strategize on how to sponsor bills, move motions that will enhance peace and unity of Nigeria.

He stated that the emergence of the speaker, Abbas, Ihonvbere and other principal officers of the House of Representatives, is a sign that Nigeria is beginning to get it right, by electing competent persons to lead.

The statement reads in part: “I look forward for you (Ihonvbere) to having a harmonious working relationship with the Speaker, other principal officers and indeed all the elected members of the House of Representatives to strategize on how to sponsor bills, move motions and enact laws that can accelerate on how to move our dear Nation forward,” he stated.
